Oshiomhole wanted me to help him remove governor Obaseki, but I refused because it’s not my style to betray - Philip Shuaibu

I will not join Oshiomhole in dictatorship

Edo state deputy governor, hon. Philip Shuaibu, has alleged that sacked APC national chairman , Adams Oshiomhole, once offered him the governorship seat, while asking him to betray governor Godwin Obaseki, in a lengthy video, hon Shuabi confirmed that he knelt down and begged Adams Oshiomhole to forgive the governor because of him, but he refused.

The video partly read:

Oshiomhole wanted me to join him, knowing fully well that I am closer to the members elect that time and members of the state assembly , because I send eight (8) years in the House of Assembly, and I spend about eighteen months in House of Reps, and I have goodwill among the Legislators because of my own style.

And he wanted me to help him, to use this same members when they are elected to remove the governor, and for me to be the governor, and I said NO! That it’s not my will, it’s not my nature to betray, if o didn’t betray him when he was NLC president, when I was NASS president, when I was offered money to get the Nigerian student out of the proposed track, if I didn’t betray him then, if o didn’t betray him when I was chased with money and plot of land in Maitama to sign an impeachment of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, when I was in the state assembly , if I did not betray him then, I cannot betray my own governor.

And I said I don’t have those tendencies, and I pleaded with Oshiomhole, I knelt down to beg Oshiomhole that this government is doing well, and the policies that we adopted during his time we are taking them to the next level, I went on my knees to beg Oshiomhole that no matter what Obaseki have done, which everything that that I asked, all the questions I asked , flimsy excuses he was giving me, and I said when I could not hold something that Oshiomhole had with the governor, I knelt down and I begged him, I said ‘I am your son’ why not because of me forgive , and Oshiomhole said, now he has confirmed that I am now with the governor, and I stood and said, “well if you want to remove the governor, then you will have to remove the governor and I”, but if you want to use me to chase the governor, no way, if the governor goes, I go.

And the truth is I hate oppression, when Oshhiomhole was being oppressed, we fought on his side, and I was brutalized, my family were at risk.
