N4b allegation: Osinbajo writes Police IG, demands investigation

Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has petitioned the Inspection General of the Nigeria Police Force, Muhammed Adam, demanding for an investigation of “false allegation” of him allegedly collecting 4billion bribe from the embattled suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu. Ibrahim Magu was rumored to have allegedly confessed to diverting 39 billion Naira while President Buhari was on a trip to the UK for medical checkup.

An online news platform run by Jackson Ude , a former director of strategy and communications under President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, who is based in the United States, has alleged that during Magu’s interrogation by the FCID, he confessed that he gave Vice President Yemi Osinbajo 4billion Naira from the stolen 39 billion naira.
While reacting to this, Osinbajo asked the police to initiate criminal proceedings against Mr. Jackson Ude.

The statement released by the Vice President through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, partly read:

The attention of the Office of the Vice President has been drawn to a series of tweets and online publications by pointblank news and today 8th July 2020, credited to the sane person, one Jackson Ude.
In essence, Ude’s story is that “embattled former Chairman of the Economic and a Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, allegedly embezzled over N39 billion and gave Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (sic) N4 billion, after the VP gave instructions to him to release some of the recovered loots.... “The same Jackson Ude has also been circulating a video on YouTube with a female commentator, peddling the same lies.
